I Finally Caved – Here’s My Plan!

Posted by: | Comments (1)

Ok, ok… I’m caving to all the pressure! I can’t fight it anymore! All the questions of “Hey Chad, what strategies should I be using to get Realtors to call me back” have motivated me to schedule an impromptu webinar this Monday, May 2. To make sure that I thoroughly answer your questions, and demonstrate exactly how you should go about getting real estate agents pumped up to work with you – I’m going to show you the exact presentation that I’m giving in 3 weeks to a group of 70 – 80 of the highest producing agents in the city…

How’s that sound? Fair enough? Watch me present the material live, so you’ll know just how well it really works! Here’s what you do. Register here:

https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/972530378

The webinar begins at 1:00 Central Time, so that’s 11:00 for those of you in PST, and 2:00 for EST. Bring your most difficult marketing questions too – I’ll answer all of them. (As time allows anyway…) If you value getting loans from Realtors, be there. See you on Monday!

Complete Mortgage Marketing Video

Posted by: | Comments (0)

mortgage marketing image 5Whew! After nearly many long hours putting everything together, I’ve finally had enough breathing room to launch our Pre-Training video for “Complete Mortgage Marketing.” If you’re wondering what it’s all about, let me give you a few hints…

In my spare time I’ve been assembling a collection of mortgage marketing tutorials that will help loan officers come as close to possible to a “sure thing” with their marketing efforts. In video #1, you’ll be introduced to an intriguing experiment performed by the Washington Post in 2007 that you don’t want to miss.

I’ve also thrown in a copy and “mini-guide” of one of the single most effective email campaigns I used to get more than 20 high performance real estate agents to contact me within 30 minutes… It was nuts! (In a good sort of way!) If you want a closer look at the email I used, then you’re going to need to check out the video for yourself here:

Loan Officer Project is GONE- Good News!

Posted by: | Comments (29)

This is going to be one of those bad news, but good news posts, I can already tell. See, after 16 months of hosting live, 5 day training sessions to help loan officers learn about online mortgage marketing and lead generation for free, we hosted the very last session in November.

In other words, there will be no more Loan Officer Project training sessions from this point forward. I know this sounds like bad news, as these sessions were popular enough to land 200 – 500 participants in each session, despite the fact that it was a 5 day commitment; But there’s some good news hidden in there as well.

See, between the Loan Officer Project 5 day training, the Loan Officer Unleashed 4 day training, and now, the Send Cool Stuff project that launches in January, the time commitment was unsustainable. A single 5 day training session required a minimum of 20 hours of my own time between the webinar, answering questions, and following up with emails afterward.

So here’s where we get to the good news, and here’s where I need your help. I have setup a whole new website dedicated to the material we were teaching during the Loan Officer Project. This site is segmented into 5 segments delivered over 5 days once you login. (Yes, it will remain 100% free)

Each day will contain 3 videos, downloadable content, and detailed instructions on what you need to do for the day to keep your marketing moving forward. Where I need your help, is in deciding on what topics to include, as I’m scheduled to begin recording fresh videos this week. (The reason I am recording fresh videos instead of using recordings from previous Loan Officer Project sessions, is a lot has changed with Google and the search engines in the past 45 – 60 days)

I’d like to know from you, what topics do you need the most help with? WHat would you like to see covered in the Loan Officer Project? I’ve already set aside time to record:

- How to build and launch a website in 24 hours

- An introduction to SEO

- How to expand the functionality of your new website

- Website lead capture

- Blogging

- Driving traffic to your site

If there’s anything I’ve missed here, please let me know now. I’ve always been a huge fan of listening to what the audience says, and designing my courses based on your feedback. If there’s topics you need help with, let us know in the comment box below! Keep your eyes open for emails from me this month, as I’ll be providing you with updates on when the new Loan Officer Project is ready, as well as updates on our latest and greatest “Send Cool Stuff” project… (Just a fun name I’ve given to a very unique, and powerful marketing tool for loan officers)

Chat with you soon!

The Worst Presentation I Ever Gave!

Posted by: | Comments (5)

Note: This post is for entertainment – Nothing to learn here today other than some cheap laughs at my expense! Enjoy!

Have you ever had something happen to you that was so embarrassing you later found it impossible to think about without your face turning red? Do any of those events take place while at work, or in the field presenting to  a potential client? My friends at SBTV are hosting a contest to see who submits the most “horrifying presentation story.” I entered my story yesterday. Read it and weep for me ok? Yes, it really did happen, and yes I still embarrass myself talking about it to this day. Here it is:

My presentation horror story is one of those “cringe worthy” events that hurts to even think about. This happened when I was a brand spanking new sales rep for a rather well known telecommunications giant. (So please cut me some slack for my reactions ok? I was still a youngling!) I had scheduled a presentation with a potential client that was far bigger than any I had worked with up to this point, so I was stoked as you might imagine!

Practically walking on air at this point as I had worked nearly 6 months to land this appointment with regional manager and VP of this massive firm. The only issue I had to overcome was the client could only meet with me at 7:00 in the morning, so I had to ask my boss permission to go straight to the appointment from my house the following morning. He agreed and gave me a little pep talk that amounted to a “go get ‘em” and “don’t screw this up” all rolled into one 45 second speech.

I set my alarm, put on my best attire, and left the house early to beat rush hour traffic… Traffic was great, I was set to arrive professionally 5 minutes early- everything was going my way! It would take a Yak and 10 oxen to pull the massive smile from my face! Or so I thought. See, even though it seemed as if the stars were aligned in my favor at this point, apparently fate has a wicked sense of humor and decided my smile was a tad bit too large and perhaps even mildly offensive as I was about to discover.

I pull into the lot exactly 7 minutes early and park the car, careful to avoid any of the “reserved” spots.  Before exiting the vehicle I did one of those last minute review mirror checks to make sure I was “studly” enough to make a great first impression. Come on, you all know what I mean. Where you look in the mirror and check your “angles” from the left to the right to make sure there’s nothing funny hanging from your teeth, or a suspicious smear on your face…

Go through the process with me now: Tie looks good? Check… Right side of face free from errant food or hair? Check… Left side of face? Chec…. Er, HAIRY? Wha??? What is this? Some kind of bad dream? My  pulse accelerated from zero to 500 in a fraction of a second as it suddenly dawned on me that I had stupidly managed to completely shave one side of my Read More→

Rambling About Mortgage Marketing

Posted by: | Comments (4)

So you’re heading back in from a 3 day weekend, officially billed “the last real weekend of summer”. I hope you had a great time, and are chomping at the bit to make some great things happen this week. I wanted to talk to you briefly about making use of the marketing opportunities that are out there right now waiting for. (Each of us has an opportunity every single day to make great things happen) If you’re still in the beginning stages of marketing to Realtors, here’s some thoughts I would like to share with you:

#1 – Start now… Right now!

Marketing to Realtors is all about momentum. Unfortunately, it’s so darn easy to question ourselves and worry if we’re “really ready” to get started, and we tend to put things off. This is why in 2010 I launched many tools that do not require you to be a marketing expert, or answer a bunch of questions to send to your agents. The newsletter series mentioned above is just one example of this, as is the SEO poster and mini e-book.

If you did nothing more than focus your efforts on getting these helpful tools into the hands of your target agents, you’d be several large steps ahead of most other loan officers struggling to get Realtors to give them loans. (Unsure of what marketing tools I’m talking about? Then register for my free webinar at the bottom of this post and learn how to implement these powerful strategies)

#2 – Follow up regularly

This one is intimidating isn’t it? I’m with you there. I still remember my first few follow ups to my “dream team” of agents. Know how I felt? Like a timid school did sauntering up to the table “Please sir… Can I have some more…” (Oliver Twist?) Really, I felt a bit like a beggar and failed to realize just how much these agents needed me. But my first success came within my very first week of following up, and it emboldened me… Then my second success popped, then another.

It’s like a snowball effect of Read More→

Final Loan Officer Unleashed

Posted by: | Comments (0)

the endmortgage marketingMarketing to realtors is one of those strategies that nearly every loan officer dreams about doing, but few ever truly master. There always seems to be something standing in your way, keeping you from enjoying the ongoing flow of excited referrals ready to use you as their loan officer.

Frustrating isn’t it?

That’s where Loan Officer Unleashed steps in… We’ve been hosting 4 – 5 day webinar series this year teaching loan officers how to quickly, and efficiently turn this frustrating “roller coaster ride” into a reliable source of referrals. Next week we end the series for 2010. In other words, if you want to benefit from this free step by step online workshop, then this is your last Read More→

Mortgage Marketing Works? Look At This!

Posted by: | Comments (6)

I am called on to help provide marketing plans, strategies, techniques etc. Nothing wrong with this at all – In fact, it’s a great way to shortcut the learning process… Learning from others who have already made all the mistakes and fine tuned a particular marketing strategy. But there’s one part of the process that absolutely cannot be short-cut. And that’s the part where you get your own hands dirty with the taking of action.

I bring this up because of what happened on yesterdays Loan Officer Unleashed webinar. I don’t mean to over-do my praise of the two gentlemen on the call, but right as I was discussing the scripts and approach methods to reach your target Realtors, one of the loan officers spoke up by telling me: “Chad, I called my local title company and asked if they could access the list you told us about. They said of course and gave it to me.”

So I stopped the webinar and inquired further. His name was Michael, and it appears he took action almost immediately, and secured a list of the top 250 Realtors in his area based on performance in a matter of minutes. I get excited every time I hear live success stories, as they are a testament to what happens when you make a determination to just “get it done” and stop worrying about all the “what ifs”.

Once Michael spoke up, Roy then chimed in and mentioned something similar. He also landed a list as described from a Realtor friend of his who was only too happy to help. He then added that he “cheated” a bit and had skipped ahead to day #2 and read Read More→

Loan Officer Unleashed Round 2

Posted by: | Comments (2)

So we wrapped up our first round of Loan Officer Unleashed last week Friday. We had more than 600 loan officer participate. We spent 5 days going through the proper steps to generate more referrals from Realtors. I had a blast, and we had loan officers telling us about their results before we even finished up with day 5!

Exciting to be sure, but we did have 1 small problem… Nearly 2,000 loan officers registered! No matter how badly I’d like to help everyone at the same time, it’s just not realistic to pack that many on 1 webinar and expect that your questions will be answered.

So what does that mean? It means that we’re hosting a second round of Loan Officer Unleashed! If you missed round 1, and want to join us for Round 2, then you need to register now before I send out the email invitation to the 1,400 that registered for our waiting list. Here’s the link:
