Installation of Wordpress

Video #1 is going to show you how to access and install your Wordpress software via CPanel. Your CPanel is simply the admin panel of your HostGator account. Check your emails received from HostGator to locate your login username, password, and link for your CPanel.  This will get you logged in, and you can then proceed with the video.

Once you’ve completed the installation process, you can login to your site by going to your browser, and typing in your web address PLUS /wp-admin – For example, if my site is www.loanofficermarketinglab.com then I would type in www.loanofficermarketinglab.com/wp-admin to get to the login page of my newly installed website and software.

Trouble Shooting and FAQ’s

1 – I’m having trouble uploading Wordpress

If both your webhosting and domain name are secured though Wordpress, this will be a very simple task. However, if you registered 1 domain name with HostGator, but need to point a new domain name to HostGator (A domain name other than what you typed in when you ordered your hosting) then you’ll need to follow a separate process. Please forward an email to cweber@averagejoelo.com if you find yourself in this situation.

2 – I don’t know what keywords to select

Don’t over-think this. The general rule of thumb is that you only want to target keywords that have a minimum of 5,000 searches per month (More is better) and lower competition. I prefer keywords with less than 25,000 competing sites, or if the volume of searches is high enough, I’ll even consider keywords with 50,000 competing sites or more.

Narrow down your target keywords to just 2 or 3 high traffic keywords. Once you’ve done this, add them to the downloadable sheet we’ve provided. We’ll review what you are to do with these keywords during Day 2.

  1. Hey are you going to give us links to day 2 and day 3 to rewatch the presentations just incase we had to be away during the initial presentation?

  2. Parnell says:

    Chad,

Good afternoon and happy day to you. I’ve been able to locate some outstanding keywords. It’s amazing that the keywords that I thought would be the most used and applicable were not the ones that I ended up with.

I searched the keywords using the Google Keyword Tool. It also gave me suggested words. I sorted it based upon local searches. It also allowed me to download a spread sheet. I took this sheet and added two columns to it.

I added a column for competition based upon your example. I also added a column that where I divided the number of monthly searches by the number of websites that were optimized for that particular keyword. This gave me a percentage of how many searches to how many websites. I chose my keywords based upon the higher percentages for searches over 25000 monthly.
